Introspecht  “Moonbeam”

 

Bred in Nova Scotia by Crosby Stables, Moonbeam spent most of her life as a show pony and school mount with the Halifax Junior Bengal Lancers, Halifax, N.S.  In 2007, she aproved with the American Sportpony Registry, receiving a First Premium score.

By Buntspecht de Lauzelle, 17.1 H Bay Approved Belgian Warmblood.  By Fuerst Ferdinand, son of Ferdinand (one of the eternal “Top Ten” of German Sires, siring 12 approved sons and 165 Main Studbook Mares).  Buntspecht had the highest all time scores at his 1984 stallion test in Belgium.  A competitor himself in the Open Jumper Division in Canada including shows at Spruce Meadows and The Royal Winter Fair, he was also the sire of many jumpers across Canada.  Among his career highlights was clearing a 7” puissance wall at The Royal Winter Fair in Toronto!  He is the sire of “Prince of Thieves”, consistent hunter in Ontario, Quebec & Florida.

Moonbeam is the dam of 2 foals:

Good Will (bred by Jill Barker, Sweets Corner, N.S.), a 2005 bay colt by Bantry Bay’s Aengus (Connemara),

& Cassidon (bred by Oulton Stables), a 2006 chestnut colt by *Stockham Commander M (Welsh B).

 

Bred to *Stockham Commander M (13.1 H Chestnut Imported Welsh), standing at Morton Stables, Sharon, ON.  Due 2008.  Commander is an approved American Sportpony stallion, receiving the ultimate score of First Premium Premier.  He is a USEF leading sire of Hunter Breeding Ponies (#1 in 2004!).  He is a Champion on the line winning classes in Great Britain, the US & Canada (including Royal Winter Fair Grand Champion B 2006), as well as a producer of many champions in Canada & the US.
